What are the chances I am infected after a brief unprotected encounter?

Dear Doctor,

I am a STD-free 29-year-old white male in New York City.  Two days ago, I had sex with a 30-year-old Brazilian female.  We had both vaginal and anal sex with a condom for about 90 minutes.  During that time, for a period of about 10 seconds, the condom slipped off while I was penetrating her anally.  After these 10 seconds, I pulled out and put on a new condom (so my penis was inside her anus without a condom for a total of about 10 seconds).  I did not ejaculate.  I have no idea about her sexual health, but to be conservative, let's assume she was HIV-positive.  What is the probability that I have been infected?  I will get a test as soon as enough time has passed for the antibodies to show up, but until then I am unbelievably nervous.  Statistics I have found on the internet suggest that the per act risk for my encounter is something like 6.5/10,000, or .00065 (.065%).  This seems extremely low.  Is this true?

No different than if it would have happened in Cincinnati Ohio.

Thanks a lot for the quick response.  How does the fact that this happened in New York City change my odds?  NYC is a high risk place so my chances of infection are higher, no?

the odds of getting infected through single exposure is low...plus your exposure was a for a very short time ie 10 seconds...
so dont worry.
just test when the time is right..
a test at 6-8 weeks post exposure is a very good indication and is unlikely to change, test again at 3 months for a conclusive result..
