it was only a couple of days after the exposure before it really hit home that i may of been exposed since then we have been safe... it would be wreckless of me if i wasn't
Very important point highlighted by Teak. If you or anyone is within his window period due to a risky exposure, he must avoid unprotected sexual contact with anyone, including his long term partner, wife or girl friend, so that the infection is not transmitted to her. This is responsible attitude and greatly helpful in controlling the spread.
If you were infected yes you could have transmitted it to your partner. Just don't get the cart before the horse. If you thought you had been exposed you should have been using protection with your partner or not having vaginal or anal sex with them at all. Get your 3 months test and go from there.
thanks for the fast reply... yep i pretty much realise this but reading dr hhh's posts he seems to be happy with the 6-8 week test.
i would have posted this to him but can't afford the joint cc showing this on the bill. i was hoping someone could ease my nerves about my symptoms and tell me i'm stressing too much and it doesn't sound like HIV
so i can stop thinking the worst for the time being
the 4.5 week test was for everything else (STD wise)
if i was positive and after home truths are let out of the bag and she does decide to stick with me... i wouldn't deserve and don't expect it is it possible to somehow have children together without either partner and child contracting HIV?
also if i did contract HIV from this exposure i was having un protected sex with my partner for a few days after... would i have been able to transmit the virus during this time?
You had unprotected anal sex with someone of unknown status. Enough for you to warrant a test, but as of today, conclusive test is not considered before 3 months mark, and a negative 8.5 week test might be highly reassuring, but can not be taken as final and conclusive.
4.5 week test was too early. Next time never take alcohol with a lady together, they don't mix well. and leave you with many ifs and whithers.
