Out of curiosity, what type of unprotected sex did you have?  Vaginal, anal or oral? Your RNA test is a good indication but your Duo test is premature to call conclusive.  I doubt your result will change but would wait until day 28 and test again for completely conclusive results.  Keep in mind, unprotected oral is no risk at all and unprotected vaginal or anal sex is low risk for a one time event at less than 2 percent transmission. Odds are most likely that your result will stay negative.

Hi, thank you.  It was vaginal.  May I ask where you get the 28 day conclusive info? I keep reading 3 months it’s nerve wracking.  Today is day 30 so I’ll be going today to hopefully put this behind me

You are looking at outdated information.  Duo tests can be trusted at 28 days.  But if you read this info, why would you test on day 24 and waste your time and money?  You can test at 28 days with a duo and trust your results although nothing is likely to change. All odds are in your favor that you are negative.

I read that after I took the test.  So I can consider myself completely conclusive with a negative result after today, day 30? Where would one access the updated info?

Ask your doctor.  4th generation duo tests are conclusive sooner than 3rd generation tests and older (those are the ones that the time frame is 3 months).  Test at day 30 and your RNA and DUO being negative at day 30 can be counted on to be conclusive.
Hello doctors. I really apologize for commenting in this gentleman's post but the doctors in india are considering 3 months as conclusive with duo test.
Just wondering why this is happening here. On asking them they told that there was a case in history where a guy turned positive later.
The doctors in India are far behind in matters of HIV testing knowledge. You received wrong information. The testing timeframe is clear and there is no reason for you to be concerned.
I beg to differ. It depends on the source of information. If you got your information from a GP who graduated 10 years back and never made an effort to keep updated with advancement in HIV, you went to the wrong place. Practically, that can happen in any part of the world, in any country. India ranks amongst top 5 medical tourism destination and has top doctors and scientists here and settled across the world.

A IV / V  Generation test is recommended to be conclusive at 6 weeks by infectious disease doctors with good credentials and there are plenty of them.
