December of 2010 I went to the Caribbean for my Christmas vacation, and decided to spend time with my boyfriend of one year, whom I’ve met there my previous year, and we have been communicating via telephone, he lives in the Caribbean, and is still there to this day. We had protected sex 7 to 10 times, no anal (I am not a party going person and I am not promiscuous). We had unprotected oral sex 2 times, for about few minute, he was the giver, we did heavy kissing, and he brushed his teeth every night so did I. After each protected sexual act, I always check the condoms to make sure it did not break, I don’t want to get pregnant yet, and this is the reason why I checked, 2 times I did not check he got up and dispose of the condoms. Since I returned from my vacation, I heard he has AIDS not HIV but AIDS. Now I am here so stress out, I examined my skin, my mouth; I have turned my body all how checking, leaving my skin red with finger prints. I have called him to let him know that I heard he have AIDS he got really mad at me, we still talk, I had asked him to get tested and send me the result, he said he will, but I am thinking what if he alter the test result, I do not know how test are being done in the Caribbean. My reason for concern is that, I was wondering what if he poked a hole in the condom wrapper with a needle, and I did not see it, while inspecting it, I know I will need to go get tested, but I am so nervous, I cannot bring myself to go, slowly I am building enough courage to get tested.. Winter time I catch cold easily, since I was a kid, I really don’t think I can handle being HIV +, I’ve read that a person who is HIV+, can develop problem if they catch a cold. I haven’t experienced any symptoms. I will keep you posted.

Yes that was irrational thinking on my part, about the poking the condom, when I heard about his statue not sure if it is true or not until I get his result, my mind just started to imagine a lot of scenarios that can put me at possible risk. Thank again. It's amazing how the mind works.

WHY would he poke a hole in the condom? you think ppl with hiv want to infect others???
