Shotty Occipital and Posterior Cervical Nodes

I have shotty occipital and posterior cervical nodes. 2 months ago the occipital lymph node was about the size of a quarter but has decreased in size to less than a centimeter. It is still firm. I have been told on here before that regardless of my symptoms my several instances of unprotected oral sex do not warrant concern for HIV. However everything I read says occipital and posterior cervical lymph nodes usually point to HIV infection. Is there any other STD that involves swollen lymph nodes or any idea what else this could be?

The following conditions should be considered if palpation of lymph nodes reveals abnormalities:

    * Submental and submandibular lymph nodes: oral or dental infection;

    * Preauricular lymph nodes: viral illness, lymphoma, Romana syndrome (trypanosomiasis), or cat-scratch fever;

    * Posterior auricular lymph nodes: toxoplasmosis or measles;

    * Occipital lymph nodes: HIV infection;

    * Anterior cervical lymph nodes (located along the medial border of the SCM): upper respiratory infection;

    * Posterior cervical lymph nodes: HIV infection, scalp infections, or seborrheic dermatitis (Winterbottom's sign refers to swelling of the posterior cervical lymph nodes in African trypanosomiasis); and

    * Chronic cervical lymph nodes: lymphoma, metastatic cancer, tuberculosis, or actinomycosis.

Test all you like collect your negative test result. You were never at risk and no one in the history of  HIV has ever been infected by receiving oral sex and you will not be the first. There has been several studies on serodiscordant couples that they used protection for anal and vaginal sex and none for oral and not one person in those studies contracted HIV from oral sex.

Yep my anxiety is huge. And yes I have been to the doctor who said I had swollen lymph nodes and told me to come back soon. I can tell the difference between a normal node and one that is firm and enlarged.

Here is just one article...http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/563022_7

The fact that you know the name for these nodes demonstrates how high your anxiety is. Please show me anything that says these particular nodes point to HIV infection - because it's not true.
Have you been to a Doctor? Did he / she say they were enlarged? I can feel "shotty" nodes all over my body - always have been able to.

Here's a tip - stop prodding them. More than likely they have always been that way, but I bet you never thought to feel for them before, did you?

You have been given numerous responses before hand about your level of risk, but if you won't believe what anyone on here tells you, then why not just take a test and be done with the anxiety?
