Should I question results?

Ok so I've recently tested for Hiv through a HIV Abs-ICMA and results were non reactive.  I have a couple questions that if someone could help me with, I'd feel alot better.  I was dating a guy who I believe may have been HIV postive.   Although I have no proof and he claims to be negative, stating he tests frequently and always has tested negative, I continue to have a nagging feeling that he was not truthful.  Anyway I waited approximately 8 months after the last unprotected exporsure to take an HIV test and it did come out negative.  O and I'm a 25 yrs old female, I'm not sure if that matters.  Ok so getting to my questions:

1.  Are negative results at about 8 months past last exposure reliable?
2.  Should I take another test or is one test reliable?  I'm not sure if one test is enough to be sure of results.  Do I have to test again for many months or years?
3.  And are the antibody test reliable?  Or should I have taken a different type of test?
Thanks to anyone who can help me out.  I know very little about HIV and testing, and I have noone that I feel I can trust to ask.

Nick7403 gave you bad advice. It is never a good idea to "google for HIV symptoms"! Most internet sources do not put the information in context.

Nobody needs more than one conclusive HIV test- your 8 month test is completely reliable.

ok so I took nick7403's advice and looked up hiv symptoms and found that I do have several of the symptoms associated with hiv.  Do you think it is possible to get a false negative 8 months past last possible exposure?  I have not had sex or done any at risk things since my last unprotected sexual act 8 months ago.  After reading up on symptoms I'm scared all over again.  What do you think I should do?  Can I really rely on just one negative hiv test?  Thanks for your help!!!

What are you talking about. If you would have took the time to read stillthink's post you would have saw that they tested 8 months after the possible exposure. stillthink doesn't need further testing.

thank you so much for questing my questions.  I really do appreicate it.  I know very little about HIV and testing, and I have no one that I can ask.  I tried to ask the doctor and talked to him about my concerns even before testing and all he kept saying is you don't have HIV, even before my results came in.  He also explained very little about the results.  So thanks again for your time
