Sore throat and muslce ache

Hi I need some advise.
I had protected anal sex and unprotected oral sex with someone about one month ago.
After 9 or 10 days later, I start to have symptoms like coughing, sore throat, dry mouth, dry lip, and growing wisdom teeth on left side of the face with swollen gland (little bit pianful when you touch it).  Most of symptoms diappearred after I drank a lot of water and couple days of antiboitoic medicine. However, coughing persisted till today (that is about almost 3 weeks now).  Also, sore throat did came back on right side of the throat with swollen gland on right side of chin (little bit pianful when you touch it).  However the swollen gland disappeared next day and the sore throat diappearred after I took some antiboitoic medicine.  Now, my hands and arms start feel werid.  I'm not sure if it is muscle ache or what.  However, this morning my legs hurts when I start to walk, but now it doesn't hurt anymore after I rub my knee.  I'm really afraid these symptoms are HIV acute infection symptoms.  I've done HIV test about two weeks after the sex encounter, the result is negative.  I've been very neverous ever since the sex exposure (it was my first time).  Sometime I will cry at nite time and every morning first thing in my mind is HIV.  please give me some advise.  Thank YOU

I'm not mad at you bro. But you don't have HIV and didn't have a risk.  What else can I tell you??

most of this is PROBABLY from anxiety.  But if the symptoms are serious - see a Dr.

Thailand is great.  Come visit.

You didn't have a risk Shen...Your mouth was healthy as you've already said and even if it wasn't there still would be nothing to lose sleep over.  Move over to the anxiety forum or seek help from a mental health professional if you still can't let it go.

You were not at risk from giving head as long as you didn't recently have oral surgery or meth mouth.

I forgot to mention, I gave someone oral sex.
Would that increase the chance of HIV

Yeah, again, based on your experience, there is really no need to test unless you need piece of mind, especially if this was your FIRST sexual experience. It does not really work like that unless you want it to, you practiced safe sex, your good.

It was my first sex experience.
Cost is not an issue for me.
I think it is free at the local health department and it costs about 20 or less from my school

Shenhua,
I just made a post related to protected intercourse. Testing based on how active you are is also recommended by the CDC. Very active individuals should test every 6 months, others who are moderately active but also change partners frequently, should also test once annually. If cost is an issue, there are sites that offer free of nominal fees for those who can not afford them

I will probably going to have another test next week or so, just want to make sure.

It's not conclusive at all. Most people that have had a risk will test positive by 6-8 weeks. A conclusive test is 3 months post exposure. You were never at risk of contracting HIV and don't need any further testing.

Thank you, I have question how conclusive is 2 weeks test?
I have read your profile, I was surprised you lived with HIV for 24 years.
You are a great person, I hope you can live another 24 years.  :-)

chapeau

It's ok, it happens.

Shenhua,
I though your question stated unprotected anal intercourse, so take this into account in my reply.
