Testing after symptoms

hello,
I have a question. If a person is exposured to HIV. If he has Symptoms of HIV after 1 month then if he went for testing then if the symptoms are related to HIV then the results should be positive right. I am asking as a general question because if a person is HIV positive only then he start showing real symptoms right. Symptoms cannot be shown if he is not positive right. Can u reply clearly to my question.

You can't rely on symptoms to diagnose HIV. If you have had an exposure get your conclusive test results 3 months post exposure and then you are done testing.
