Last October 3, 2011 I (female) had unprotected sex with a man. October 11, 2011 negative HIV test (though I knew this was early).
-On January 5, 2012 had oraquick HIV test (mouth swab) Also NEGATIVE
-On January 12, 2012 had HIV blood test, at local lab also NEGATIVE
-On July 2, 2012 did Home Acess HIV test. This test is NEGATIVE
. Do I need to test again in October 2012? Some doctors say testing at 1 year is definitely conclusive. It's hard to know what to believe. Some websites say no one knows for sure when an individual will produce antibodies, and if this is factual, how many negative tests should a person receive before having peace of mind they are without a doubt negative. Everyone has a different immune system so can that effect when someone produces antibodies? It has been 9 months since my incident and I am still getting tests. Am I in the clear at this point? Also can someone please explain the Urban Myth? What is it?
