HIV test at 9 weeks accuracy

Hi.

My last sex/exposure was on January 31, 2016. I went to the clinic and hospitals for an HIV test. I was tested four times in different time frames; it was all negative.

Just today, April 11, 2016, I was tested again and still negative. It's 9 weeks after the last exposure.

Is there a chance that it would change from negative to positive on 12th week?

Thanks.

Yeah! I'm also thinking that it would be negative again on 12th week. I'm just being cautious and I'm worried. Also I'm getting paranoid sometimes.

Thanks for your reply. I can focus now on other things while waiting for 12th week, but I won't be so much worried like before. :)

Hello,

So I don't know what was you exposure... but normally tests performed these days are more likely to be 4th generation tests or at least very sensitive tests.

If you tested negative all these times, it highly suggests that you are HIV negative and it is pretty conclusive... most people would show up positive really early actually, some at 3 weeks already and most of them at 4 weeks would turn positive (around 90%). If you want to retest at 13 weeks for peace of mind go ahead but I would not stress over this anymore if I were you :) your test will I am sure, turn out negative again!
