What do I do?

I had unprotected sex last nite with a male. He did not ejaculate inside me, however it was unprotected. Later today I saw in his cabinet the medication atripla which I found out is for the treatment of HIV. I have not been able to discuss my finding with him as of yet, but I'm very very concerned. I went to a late operating clinic that advised me to see a specialist. However, Im curious as to the prophylaxis meds and how they work. Could someone help me on what I should do next?

Attention, I'm not wanting to alarm you, but infection by HIV is something that we should not neglect unwisely, because the consequences are disastrous. Ge an expert advise as soon as possible.

Hello,
I strongly advise you to look for a specialist, like "now". If the drugs really are ATripla, then the  person with whom  you were last night is hiv+ (remember, i'm just saying this if are really his medicins), then you should seek help as soon as possible. The transmission of HIV has a much higher percentage of Man -»Woman, and if there is a possibility of you have been infected then any expert advise you to do PEP (Post-exposure prophylaxis).

Consult this : http://www.aids.org/factsheets/156-treatment-after-exposure-to-hiv-pep.html

I wish you the best
