Worry of HIV infection

Had a unprotected vaginal sex with a girl who I found out had been sleeping with someone else...
Two weeks after had the classic conversion symptoms of a non itchy rash, and diarrhoea..
This was in February and now in November... Since then have had constant symptoms of diarrhoea, headaches, sweating, eye problems, dry skin, basically feeling like death. And my liver enzymes have been up!

Issue is have had all the tests in the world, antibody, DUO RNA tests... As recently as two weeks ago.. The only other sexual contact with her was in May..

My concern is being constantly Ill could I have not developed antibodies yet? Or been superinfected? And delayed being production? All my hepatitis along with everything else, glandular fever etc have all come out as negative.

If you could reassure me would be helpful thanks!

Actually I think anyone who feels they have had a exposure, and go's and takes a test (whether at 4 weeks for DUO or 12 week's for antibody), takes a lot of courage and they (including yourself) should be applauded. Seriously you have taken all nessarary test's and at this late stage as well. You are totally negative. Any HIV expert would agree. Take care.

Hello,
Certainly not to disrespect the advice given... But I'm really not getting better and really have an idea that after being infected in February that I was re infected in May.. As in a different strain from the second person.

I'm wondering if I'm still going through an extended seroconversion this is why no antibody shows up anything. I took a PCR DNA test and that didn't show up anything at all.

My stomach especially feels like it's being eaten from the inside and I understand that HIV especially thrives in the lining of the stomach. I really can't see any other explanation as the diarrhoea I have never changes and i remember reading that after people contracting HIV that their bowel movements are never the same..

My last antibody test was negative 3 weeks ago.. But I truly believe because of the different strain the HIV isn't showing up in the bloodstream at all!

Really a living nightmare. And I was perfect before this contact... I don't believe in catching some magical virus from the air.

Anymore advice would be appreciated.. And yes I'm well aware of the 3 month testing window but I believe this is a special case.

Oh I think you misunderstood... was missing the " " around attack.. I was meaning that anyone considering that not being safe, they really are playing russian roulette, and I don't think they understand the possible consequences.
Thanks all!

Hi,

Yes I agree with other posters; you are indeed negative

But your idea of attacking other people who have unprotected sex is somewhat misplaced and aggressive. Millions of people make mistakes (which they regret); this does not make them bad people
You are on this site because you made a mistake; like everyone else. If you negative (which I believe you are), use your energy's to attacking the disease and the stigma surrounding it. Not the people who suffer from it. Educate yourself!
All the best.

Vance has answered your question, but I'll repeat it anyway.
You do not have HIV.

Your symptoms could be related to stress and to put your mind to rest, see your PCP, tell him/her about the unprotected sex and all the tests you've had and obviously all the symptoms you're still experiencing and let them determine what, if anything, the problem is.

Thanks for your response...
Is it just because of how long it's been? Even though I was 100% well before that time? And am still suffering Ill effects from two weeks after sexual contact?
If I'm ok makes me want to attack in a good way anyone who doesn't protect themselves... The grief isn't worth it!!
