Your answer would help me alot

Dear all,
- Over 3 years ago I broke my condom once, I knew it and have tested negative later more than 6 months.
- And last year (15 months ago), I had sex with a prostitute with condom, It didn't broke. But i'm not sure if it broke without me noticing it.
I was worried then 2 months  after that I had a blood rapid test Negative (Abott determine test).

Later on, I never tested until last month when I have some symptoms.
Then I have same blood rapid tests negative.
- 15 months negative. (abbott determine hiv 1/2 test)
- 15 months (plus 2 weeks) negative. (abbott determine hiv 1/2 test)

1. What I want to ask the accuracy of my test, because those test are free at nearby local clinic. Is that conclusive?
Do I really need to have a test at expensive Lab to get a conclusive result?

2. I read on internet, they said false negative can happen to IV drug users, chemotherapy drugs users. I'm not really clear about that. I used to have injections of Vitamin B5 + Biotin twice a week around 3 months. And 3 months later after that I have my 15 months hiv rapid test. Can you tell, am I IV drug user?

3. One more thing, I have symptoms of swollen lymph node and feel little pain, nausea, shortness of breath more than one month already. And it really make me more worried when I search on this site it mostly show the result in HIV category.

I met a doc nearby my house, he gave me some meds. I take them more around 10 days already but can't feel any better.

1- when we talk about hiv infection among iv drug users we are referring to drug addicts who inject drugs with the SAME SYRINGE. You do not fall in this category.  I really don't think you share your biotin injection with anyone ;) when you take your injections disposable syringes are used.

2- if you say you can feel swollen lymph nodes under your neck then i believe you. You just have to understand they have nothing to do with HIV.

3- if you took the test in a clinic you can be sure it's accurate.

- But can you tell me what is IV drug users? I thought IV was meant to be something with injections and I used to have it.

- I know I worry but i don't think anxiety can cause me swollen lymph node under my neck and strongly feel it when I swallow.

- Can you confirm me I don't need more hiv testing? I took only free rapid tests.
Are they accurate same as expensive test at big lab?


ofcourse I will meet doc again, but I just wanna make sure I don't need to worry about hiv.

3- your symptoms have nothing to do with HIV BECAUSE YOU ARE CONCLUSIVELY NEGATIVE.

You don't require any more testing, but you do need help with your anxiety. Try to get professional help for it. take care.
