Your opinion please.
Last November I stupidly had unprotected sex with a man. I am female, 52. In January - I had a subborn mouth ulcer, followed by extreme tiredness, extreme bone pain, and nausea.
Then, almost immediately after that, my bowle movements changed, I started to loose weight, in March I developed a yeast infection, which is not only down there, it is in my mouth, on my skin and nails,(my skin feels sticky) and my body odour has changed. Sometimes I feel full up, of yeast. I also got a rash on my shoulders, and my gums bleed every time I brush my teeth. Also I have lost all of the lovely dark haris on my arms and legs!
I have lost 17kgs in six months. My skin texture has changed. My sense of taste, and smell have changed, or gone.
Also - i have night sweats every night, vaginal and urinary infections, continuous since March. And I feel dirty.
I am afraid that I may have had hiv for a long time,without knowing it, maybe twenty years or so, and that the recent exposure maybe reinfected me? I used to live in India - I was not a drug user but I did have one or two unprotectected episodes - that was a long time ago.
Does this sound like hiv infection maybe after the asymptomatic stage? 3rd stage? Please help me.

you should have insisted on a condom and you wouldnt have to worry about his drug use.
And i only found out afterwards that he used to be using drugs heavily!!! He didnt bother telling me.
yep...fear of the unknown is what happens when you choose to have unprotected sex.

thanks. i am going to test. but am frightened because if it is hiv i will need to go on meds to stop the weight loss. and i have heard all stories about how the mes make u feel so sick, and make you fat/thin...etc. its driving me crazy. and i am so scared!

i thought that weight loss, vaginal infections, urinary infections, and thrush (candida) are all symptoms of hiv? also i have had swollen glands in my neck for three months now, and they are painful.

No it doesn't doesn't sound like HIV infections nor is it ARS. You can test now for a conclusive result. See your doctor for your symptoms.
I know. But I want to know your opinion? Do the symptoms sound like hiv to you? You are an expert.
if you are concerned about your status...then test. testing is the ONLY way to know one's status.
