Acute HIV infection?
Posted on the wrong forum first time around... I gave a girl unprotected oral and then we had unprotected vaginal sex afterwards. I was definitely tested clear before this encounter. She claims to be clean. 18 days later, I developed a mild sore throat with no fever. Now on day 20 my mild sore throat persists but with some white patches in the throat, minimal lymph gland swelling, mild joint stiffness, and a mild headache. Does this sound like acute HIV? Is a DNA test worthwhile, or do I need to wait the recommended three months to get tested using the antibody test?
you can test at 6-8 weeks post exposure for a verry good indication of your status..
test again at 3 months for a conclusive result..
