I really hope your right, thanks for the feed back...
The reason that your risk isn't super high, even being stuck with a soiled needle, is because it was a superficial stick. The real risk lies with IV drug users who share needles, meaning the second person injects the infected blood directly into the bloodstream (into a vein).
Has this guy's HIV status been confirmed, or is it just a suspicion?
You will still need to test at 3 months after your last dose of the PEP, but my guess is, you will be just fine. Honestly...it sounds as though your symptoms are related to the PEP most likely. PEP is VERY VERY potent and has MANY MANY side effects.
NO IM FROM COLORADO, AND IF YOU GET A CHANCE YOU SHOULD LOOK UP OR WATCH , Forensic Files Shot of Vengeance , ITS A TRUE STORY ABOUT A GUY WHO INJECTED HIS GIRL FRIEND WITH HIV AND HEP C , AND THEY PROVED IT WITH DNA , HE USED SOMEONE ELSES BLOOD , HE GOT 53 YEARS IN PRISON , IT HASED HAPPENED , AND I DO KNOW PEOPLE ITS BEEN DONE TO ,
You must be from Canada. I didn't say you didn't get poked I said there has never been anyone contract HIV from being poked outside the healthcare field.
THIS WAS NOT A DISCARED NEEDLE, THIS WAS A RECENTLY USED NEEDLE THAT THE GUY STUCK INTO HIS VEIN , THEN HE STUCK ME IN THE LEG WITH IT, I WENT TO THE ER , AND THEY ARE THE ONES WHO GAVE THE PEP TO ME , I TOOK PICTURES OF THE NEEDLE STICK , AND REPORTED IT TO THE POLICE, I PROMISE THIS IS NOT SOMTHING I WOULD JOKE AROUND ABOUT, THIS IS VERY SERIUOS TO ME, AND I I AM VERY WORRIED BECAUSE , IM HAVING ALOT OF WEIRD SYMPTOMS ,SINCE I STOPPED THE PEP, I KNOW YOU THAT ALOT BUT I DONT BELIEVE I COULD CAUSE THESE THING BY STRESS ALONE. AND I CAN ASSURE YOU THIS IS VERY REAL...
http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/resources/qa/hoax1.htm Read the last paragraph on this CDC site. Then move on.
SO ARE YOU TELLING SINCE I WAS INJECTED,STUCK IN MY LEG, JUST UNDER MY KNEE NOT IN A VEIN, THAT THERES NO CHANCE OF GETTING HIV? I HAVE NO DOUGHT THAT YOU ARE VERY SMART, BUT CDC CANT KNOW EVERYTHING....
You don't know anyone that has been infected by a needle stick outside the healthcare field. CDC keeps all records on transmission issues that ended up causing infection and THEY state is has never happen. There is a big difference being being stuck and injecting into a vein.
THANKS 4 RESPONDING , BUT I KNOW PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN STUCK WITH NEEDLES , ON PURPOSE THAT HEVE BEEN INFECTED, ITS THE PERFECT CRIME , IF SOMEONE SUSPECTS YOU OF BEING A SNITCH THEY DONT BEAT YOU UP ANYMORE, THEY TRY AND STICK YOUWITH A NEEDLE WITH OUT YOU KNOWING AND WATCH YOU GET SICK , LATER ON WHEN YOU CANT PROVE ANYTHING, ITS TERRIBLE I PERSONALLY KNOW OF 2 PEOPLE WHO DO THIS, AND ONE OF THEM DID IT TO ME BUT I FELT THE STICK IN ME LEG,
Only a test at 3 months post the last dose of PEP is conclusive. However there has never been anyone infected by a needle stick outside the healthcare field.
I wish you were right bro, but my skin has turned red, and my lymph nodes are swolllen and I dont know what else it could be, I know for a fact this guy was trying to give me hiv, he is known for doing this to others , and I was on pep 4 weeks b4 i took the test
your test PROVES you're not infected, that kind of test is very accurate, you are safe.
thanks for the quick answer, I feel so helpless and alone, anyway my doctor thinks there is no need for further testsing ,said the pcr rna test ,was very accurate , is this not true?
Your conclusive result will be 3 months after your LAST DOSE of PEP.
