I'm wondering about lymph nodes...

Dear Doctor,

I just noticed pain in my neck the other day then pain behind my left jaw. The next day when I woke up I felt a small bump there. It appeared within a day. When people get enlarged lymph nodes because of HIV, do they usually get them very suddenly and sporatically?...My earring hole has been infected lately but I am not sure if this is because of that or because of HIV. I had an exposure about a year and a half ago and was tested negative out to 4 months.  Does this enlarged node (about the size of a pea) sound anything like HIV?

Thanks doc

How could you possibly have HIV when you had a 4 month negative test after your last exposure? Thats impossible.
