hiv blood test

i had a hiv blood  test 4 months and a half after an exposure, i am not from america but did the test at a good private clinic from my city. nurses there told me 3 weeks would be enough for a sure answer. i dont know what test was that, but constantly repeated it and 4 months and a half later i was still negative. my question is-would the test, if a simple antibody one, be accurate after 4 months and a half?

thank you for your answers... that is why i repeated the test, i wasn't sure those nurses are completely prepared...but i also thought that maybe it is not an elisa test, but something else with real results in 3 weeks, on the paper with the results i couldn't find the name of the test.

Those nurses are not educated in hiv or they wouldn,t have told you 3 weeks is enough for a sure answer,3 months post-exposure is a 100% sure answer and conclusive and Teak has already advised you of this, and he,s an expert.
