is this obsession? or can it be possible?
hi, 4 weeks ago i was delivered some testing appliance in a hiv lab ( rapid tests, some reagent, ..) to give them to another clinic,
anyway, i put those items in my bag and left the hiv lab, i remember that i moved those items from my bag to another place as soon as i arrived home,
last week, because i caught cold, i bought syringe and some medication and went to a clinic for injection , i had two injection appointment days, there is no concern about the first day because i am sure i gave the syringe to the nurse which i bought from the drugstore, but i am not sure about the second day that i gave a new syringe to nurse or not (because i am not sure if the drugstore gave me one syringe or two ones, although i had two injections written in my prescription),,,,anyway, on both days i gave that syringe and the medication to the nurse and she injected it to me,,
now i started to worry: can it be possible that the healthcare worker (in hiv clinic) gave me a syringe (used or non used one) or even some hiv sample in a syringe, and i left it in my bag, and after 3 weeks i gave it to the nurse for medication injection?
i know the nurses usually do not reuse syringes,but what about the syringes we ourselves already give them? do they check these syringes too?
i am really scared, is this irrational thought? or do i have hiv obsession thoughts?

thank you for all your supporting, you are right i should be convinced that i am safe, because there is really nothing to be worried about, but last week i stupidly tested myself with other 6 hiv rapid tests, all were negative during the permitted 20 minutes (the rapid tests' manufacturer says it is invalid to read results after 20 minutes from start of test),,,but one test showed extremely faint line 40 minutes after start of test,,,this really scared me,,,so despite my will i went to a lab and tested by elisa, i haven't got the result yet, and i think i won't go to get the result, i am really scared, what should i do? the nurse there told me sometimes the elisa shows positive and so the patient should do secondary test and so should pay some more money (seems they say this to all persons who take hiv/hcv tests there),,,and this scares me more,
please note that i haven't had risky unprotected sex, and no sharing drug use in my life, and the syringe i used for medication was a new and packed syringe, and again the clinic's nurse reassured me everything you take out from our clinic is sterile, so i say to myslef my test is pointless,

please reread all this thread,,,i almost forgot that incident (about being injected with a wrong syringe) which was an irrational thought, but since i have a wife, today (14 weeks after the day i was injected with penicillin in the clinic) i got panicked again so i tested myself with 12 rapid tests (all negative), but i have heard these type of blood rapid tests i used are not so reliable and may miss some correct results,,,
i am somewhat sure the second day's syringe was also a new one i bought from the drug store (i had bought 2 syringes),,,,even as i told you, i asked the healthcare worker of hiv lab and she told me she didn't give me a syringe, but stupidly today i thought of calling and ask her again, how can i get rid of these thoughts?

NO!!!! Not in any way, shape or form. This is NOT a risk! The nurse just told you the same thing. If you cannot accept this, thien it is time to seek out some professional help. There is nothing more we can help you with.

anyway, today i asked the healthcare worker about what she exactly gave me on that day, and she assured me with confidence that she gave me only some rapid tests and a plastic vial of some reagents (no syringe, no blood sample,..she also told me they are not permitted to give blood samples to anybody) exactly like what i myself remember,
i also asked the nurse (who injected me) and she told me they check the syringes packing before injection for not be torn or damaged, so i try not to have this irrational thinking anymore,
but i want to be sure, isn't there a risk from inside of my bag during those 3 weeks? i inserted the syringes and medication in the same bag as i told you before (all were in their packings and even i placed them in another plastic pouch before putting them in my bag),

Of course they're not, which is why I suggested this person SHOULD become better educated.
Not everyone that works in a clinic or hospital is well educated about Hiv matters.Alot of the nurses at the canberra hospital don't know much about Hiv at all.Education is the key but it appears that Hiv education is not a priority or a great concern.Sad really.
These are completely irrational thoughts. You cannot get HIV in this manner, even if there WAS infected blood on any of these items.

i remember i got only some rapid tests and reagents (in a vial not syringe) from the healthcare worker 3 weeks ago ( i still have them in another bag),,,i even remember i emptied my bag after coming back from the lab 3 weeks ago, and i remember i got the syringe from the pharmacy and even checked the syringe before i gave it to the nurse,

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
of course before going to the clinic for injection, i checked the syringe and it was in its packing,,,

what if the healthcare worker gave me some blood samples in a syringe? of course i didn't see any bloody item in what she gave me, i even don't remember to see any syringe,

Yes it is irrational thinking. There is nothing in the tests and/or regents that would put you at risk of contracting HIV.
