legally must a doctort tell you if you test positive?

If you test positive for HIv does the doctor legally have to tell you?  If so in what time frame.  Thanks, I woulod prefer facts on this one not opinions.

In the UK it's 2 weeks.

Where are you from? if you live in U.S canada its two weeks tops.
I dont know about other places.

Yep.  The Doc is supposed to provide you a post test counselling. Its must if someone is tested poz.


I had the similar doubts, When I was taken to emergency, they did some tests and I am sure they did HIV. They didn't say anything about HIV. Thats a relief.

Usually, If you get a call from the doctor thats a concern. you dont hear anything from them after the test, then you are good.
