Blood during sex

Hello community.

During protected anal intercourse that followed rather aggressive oral sex (I was the insertive partner for each) we noticed that my partner was bleeding heavily. We stopped and washed. My concern is that the blood that got all over the base of my penis and groin may have gotten into cuts from oral sex. While this partner tested negative in January of 2010, he has not been tested since and is regularly active with other partners. Is this cause for concern? Naturally, my question is motivated by a mysterious sickness involving swollen glands and loose bowels that has been troubling me the past few days, roughly three weeks post incident. Thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions, therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
