Is this hiv

Hi, I had unprotected (oral, brief vaginal) sex with a girl of unknown status. The day after I developed pelvic pain and hot flashes in the body. Three days after I developed shortness to breath. As days went by I developed the following symptoms: pain in armpits (no swollen nodes identified by doctors), pain in groin (lymph nodes can be felt in both sides although they are small according to doctors), hot flashes in the body (there is no fever at all less than 37.1, although body feels hot), sore throat, ulcers in mouth, pain in inner thighs (specially when walking or laying down), pain behind knees and elbows (rarely happen), night sweats ( at least 5 times in the last 2 months), weight loss (3 to 4 kg). All of this has remained for the last 8 weeks. I have already had 2 pcr RNA test (4 and 6 weeks) 2 ab/ag tests (4 and 7 weeks). My questions are:

1) is it too soon for ars symptoms to start after 1 to 3 days ?
2) is it too long for ars symptoms to last for 8 weeks ? Still persistent.
3) how reliable are my results according to the the weeks they were taken ?

Thanks

If your symptoms were due to HIV, you would have tested positive.  Your RNA would have for sure come back positive.

Hi, I understood that the tests are very accurate, although these ongoing symptoms have persist for almost 9 weeks (they are very severe). Has anyone heard of seroconversion symptoms lasting this long ? I know I have already asked this question before, but seriously I feel like I am dying, I cannot even weak up of my bed (also sleep to few as a result of the constant pain and feeling bad).
Thanks

So, the 7 weeks (48 days) ab/ag is conclusive ? I'll still take another test after 12 weeks.
Thanks

Risk of HIV transmission from a single isolated act of unprotected vaginal sex is not very significant when status of your partner is unknown as there is very strong possibility that he/she may not be infected.

Having said that, the risk though small, but not zero either and warrants a test to rule out.

On symptoms, one most important point one must keep in mind. Symptoms are often confusing and misleading, because these symptoms are very much similar to those, due to some common illnesses. Secondly, many actually infected people remained totally asymptomatic.

Typically, the symptoms related to HIV appear 2-4 weeks after the exposure and stay for 1-2 weeks. These symptoms essentially include fever (101-103 F), non itching body rashes and swollen lymph nodes.

To answer your questions,

1. No they do not appear that soon

2.No, they do not persist that long

3.No, a 4th generation Duo HIV Ab+Ag test is conclusive only after 28 days of exposure. Your 2-6 weeks PCR RNA tests are fine and indicate that you do not have HIV
