teak,i know that you are very competent on HIV/AIDS,can i ask you do you see or read for someone ,who don`t produce antybodies in the first 3 months after HIV infection,i know this is a anxiety driven question and you recive many of them every day,but HIV is always in the back of my mind even with 3 months negative ,because a lot of doctors told me ,i have to test again after 3 months
The window period lasts 4 to 6 weeks but occasionally up to 3 months after HIV exposure. Persons at high risk who initially test negative should be retested 3 months after exposure to confirm results.

Those that need to test at 6 months, are IV drug users, people on chemo, people taking anti-rejection drugs for transplants and people that have a severe immune disease. If you would have a severe immune disease, you wouldn't be on the computer asking questions. You would be in a hospital.
