.....therefore dr h was incorrect despite his 30 odd years of experience and award for HIV /AIDS research in Southern Africa..
If one does have true ARS the symptoms come on all at once and leave all at once.
And the on set of ars? Does it come all at once or one at a time? because the prevention community says all at once while dr hunter says one at a time.
http://www.sfaf.org/aids101/hiv_testing.html#window
Here is what the CDC says about the window period:
"Antibodies generally appear within three months after infection with HIV, but may take up to six months in some persons."
This CDC definition of a three to six month window period has been commonly used for a number of years.
What does this mean for you?
•The three month window period is normal for most of the population. Many people will have detectable antibodies in three or four weeks. Very, very rarely (i.e., only a few cases ever), a person could take six months to produce antibodies.
What i cannot explainb is why i now have chlamidia? What fluids got onto my member in order for me to get this std is what worries me.
1) Why do the two forums differ on window periods?
2) why is it that ars on the prevention community as posted can only occur at the same time while Dr Hunter says it can happen at the same time (the illnesses ) or one at a time.
3) I have read on the Prevention community that HIV deactivates, shuts down outside the body, However Dr Hook say infection is possible outside the body?
I am genuinely worried because i got an std whilst wearing a condom-it is inteligeble to assume that there is a risk for hiv.
You were probably just noticing the lubricant inside the condom. Vaginal fluids don't leak into condoms.
You were PROTECTED and therefore had NO RISK for HIV, therefore you are NOT in a window period and whatever happens during seroconversion is completely IRRELEVANT to your situation. You do NOT need to be concerned about your encounter and can move on with your life without thinking about this incident.
I was just wondering why the Expert forum posits that the window period is 6-8 weeks while the prevention forum puts the window at 3 months and 6 months (weak immunity)
Reading older and current accounts-Dr Hunter seems to endorse the motion that seroconversion simptoms can come one after the other as well as all together, while on the prevention forum seroconversion illnesses all happen at the same time.Sorry to be a bother i had an STD check and was picked up for chlamidia-so im now quite worried.
Condom protects you from STD's and HIV...you had no risk.
