Advice please

Hello all;
My medical history is quite complex but I have had very high blood pressure  since I was 24
which started with pre eclampsia. I am now 40 years old and I am on 4 blood pressure medications per day and my kidney function is impaired in that only one of my kidneys are working. My blood pressure has been so high that it has affected my heart with left ventricular hypertrophy. When my blood pressure was very high the reading were 230/120 and i would get pressure feelings in my head, dizziness, chest pain and palpitations. i have been on blood pressure tablets for 3 years and my blood pressure settled to 135/75 average until the beginning of this year when I started with the headaches and dizziness and several times I have had high readings of  180/90.
These symptoms have been worse this last week and my headaches have been persistent, also the dizziness has returned and I have tingling sensations all over my body. I took my blood pressure today because when I was on a walk I found it hard to catch my breath and the headache and dizziness made me walk slower than usual. The first reading was 208/107 and i thought it was a misreading so i checked it again and it was185/93. My headache is still there and dizzy feeling also.
I am under an endocrinologist at the local hospital but i am a little fearful of these high readings and the effect it is having on my health. I am wondering why my blood pressure is so high when I am on 4 medications? Could it be to do with my kidney failure?
I have been told that when hypertnsion has been present for so long it persistently stays high despite  medication, is this correct?
I know it is high now because the headache and dizziness is as bad as earlier and i have taken my prescribed medication.
Thanks  please help.

Unfortunately, sometimes blood pressure can not be controlled with medication...small minority of patients.  Also, the condition can be idiopathic meaning the cause is not known.  Yes, the kidneys can be invoolved causing high blood pressure.

You should see a doctor, and if necessary change medication or adjust the current medication.  It is important to have your  bp properly managed.
