My husband (who is 38) had bad chest pain a few weeks ago that lasted about 15 minutes. For a week or two after that he noticed that he had intermittent tachycardia. He went to his doctor to get checked out. The doctor did some blood work and an EKG and said everything was fine except for some mildly elevated liver enzymes. He repeated the liver enzyme test 2 weeks later and the liver enzymes have gone down some but are still slightly elevated (AST:45, ALT:75). He ordered a liver ultrasound but it still has to be scheduled. My husband asked for a print out of all his results and we noticed that the EKG interpretation says: "Normal sinus rhythm; small R wave in V2 compared to V1, Possible V1-V2 lead reversal, less likely is septal wall MI, no acute changes, abnormal ECG." I figure the liver enzymes are most likely due to fatty liver disease as my husband is overweight (BMI is 29.4). He has been changing his diet and exercising and has lost 10 lbs. in just the past 3-4 weeks. However, the ECG result sounds ambiguous to me? Does it sound like they were really okay, or is there still a possibility that he had a heart attack? Should he get a second opinion on the heart?
