Thanks for the response. I enjoy singing also...it can help relax! I hope you continue to improve your health. Take care.
Thanks for all your reply's. I started taking the Metoprolol Sunday and almost gave myself a nervous breakdown worrying about it after I took it. Its obvious that it didn't kill me since I'm here posting. Instead of taking at bed time I am taking it about 6pm each day with a little food and milk. I really don't like the idea of eating something just to take the med and then laying down. My heart is still doing the weird beat thing now and then. My blood pressure is staying pretty low and my pulse is ranging anywhere from 66 beats a minute to 88 bpm. I have had a bad day today. Ive had a lot of dizziness and felt a little lathargic from time to time. Not sure what to make of any of this. Oh well guess I need to keep my doctor informed.
No singingwolf isnt my real name but I have always went by Silverwolf and that was taken. I use singingwolf because I love to sing!
QUOTE" "I have MVP, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, I am hypoglycemic, and have been having weird palpitations. Ive noticed my heart rate seems to be to fast at times for no reason. My doctor wants me to take Metoprolol ER 50mg on half pill at night before bed. I react badly to many drugs and I am scared to death to take it then lay down. I am currently taking Remeron. Anyone got advice for me?"
Hypoglycemia can cause your rhythm problems. I don't see any medication for that condtion. Remeron is treatment for your depression, metoprotol usually is therapy for high blood pressure. I'm not sure how depression and med treatment for same interacts with your body system, concomitant anxiety, etc.
MVP is a condition where some blood backflows into the upper chamber with each heartbeat rather than pumped into circulation. Almost always if mild, trivial, etc. MVP does not cause any symptoms nor progress...so that may a non-issue for you.
Your doctor has your health history, medications currently and prior, concomitant current and past issues, etc. You will have to trust your doctor, or get a second opinion. and as much as I would like to help you with helpful information for some insight to your problem, it would all be speculation, and that you don't need as that would just adding to confusion.
Thank you for chosing the Heart forum for your question, but you may get a better answer to some of your symptoms, medication, etc. if you visit the anxiety forum. There is forum link at the top of the page with many helpful forums that may assist you. Take care and I wish you well going forward into the New Year.
