Endocarditis!?

Ive had a few symptoms similar to those who have endocarditis and it has me very concerned. What I first noticed was a tender red raised area on my left toe. It has been there almost a week and tonight I noticed another area developing on that same toe... On the pads of my Toes. Two of my toes on the rt side has  red, slightely tender areas but they r on the top near my toenail.

I also suffer from heart palpitations and they have been alot worse the last few weeks. Also very tires, but I also have low b12 so that could be related.

These are my only symptoms and I have no risk factors for endo. I know its not likely but still a possibility. Im mainly concerned about the areas on my toes... Anyone know what it could be if its not oslers nodes!?

Does anyone know how long the oslers nodes last? I noticed a red pindot area on my hand today. Its two together and they are no larger than a pindot, could this be a janeway lesion? Are these areas usually larger than a pindot, and how long do they last?

Thanks so much for the reassurance Smiley.  The only other symptom Ive had is the palpitations and that is nothing new for me. Ive been tired but thats probably not related either. This nodule just looks just like an oslers node.

Hi there,

If you had Endocarditis your major symptoms would be the following:

low grade fever, night sweats and chills (severe), general malaise and palpitations, chest pains, urin that looks like beer, red spots on hands feet and eyes in severe cases.

Self-diagnoses and Internet-diagnoses are never a good thing.  You should get the toe-issue checked out by your Physician but I can almost guarantee you to rest assured that you don't have Endocarditis.

Please keep us informed and all the best :)
