HIGH DIASTOLIC READINGS

HI I AM A 33 Y/O OVERWEIGHT WOMEN THAT WAS DX WITH HYPERTENSION ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO. I AM CONCERNED WITH MY BLOOD PRESSURE READINGS THAT SEEM TO BE STRANGE. MY SYSTOLIC IS A LITTLE HIGH WITH READINGS TAHT RANGE FROM 120-130'S. MY DIALSTOLIC READINGS ARE REALLY HIGH THAT RANGES FROM THE LOW 90'S TO THE 1OO'S. ON ANY GIVEN DAY MY BLOOD PRESSURE WILL READ LIKE THIS? 128/104. ISNT THIS STRANGE? I TAKE ZESTRIL 25MG. IT BRINGS THE DIASTOLIC DOWN A BIT, BUT NEVER TO WHERE IT SHOULD BE.                      CONCERNED

When i went to the ER they said anything on your sys.can be 140 and below and your dias can be 100 and below. But i do suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. So my blood pressure is always a little high. But like ed said you always take 10 off of your blood pressure...

your systolic is fine and I wouldn't class them as a little high at all. Your diastolic
pressure is quite high but what are you using to take these measurements? Home
equipment is not accurate and can be +/- 10 meaning your diastolic is really
80. The only real accurate method available without being in intensive care is have
a GP use a cuff and a stethascope.
