Heart Attack??

I am 60 yrs. old, have controlled HBP, and have been having  a strange symptom for about a year, altho yesterday was by far the worst incident.  It felt as though I was having labor contractions in my torso, including under my breasts, diaphram and my back.  It was quite painfull, and left me unable to catch my breath, but also I felt the need to get up and walk to kind of get my circulation calmed down.  Sounds weird, I know. Any advice for me??  Joith

I would agree you should be checked out.  It could have been caused in my opinion from a number of options, including angina or other heart problem, GERD or related digestive disorders or a panic attack.  The doctors will give you the tests, usually they will know.  I sure wouldn't blow it off, get yourself checked out soon.  After seeing the docs, let us know how it turned out, that's how these forums help others.  Best wishes.

Go to the ER NOW! Tell them your having chest pain or had chest pain like you described and they'll put you right in past everyone. They do an EKG and test your blood for heart enzymes released during a heart attack. They'll be able to tell you right then if that's what happened. That pain you felt could have been a heart attack. If you've had similar pain for a year it could be angina. Don't delay.

Sound like you probably did suffer a heart attack.  You better go in to have an EKG done to confirm it.  Symptoms when having a heart attack can be shaking in the back. It could also be that an artery that is somewhat blocked is spasming.  You better seek medical attention as you may need medication to prevent further attacks or a procedure done.
