Do some research on the Valsalva Maneuver and Vasovagal Response.  You might find it interesting as far as your free diving goes.  As for all of the other reports, I would file this away for now and enjoy yourself more.  It has been proven that our emotions can affect heart functions.  I am a firm believer in mind over matter in a lot of things.  Take care, Ally

Your question is a bit confusing. Are you asking if it is possible for the right side of your heart to be enlarged and not the left side? If so, yes it is possible. How is your heart function otherwise? You say you had several tests done, but don't mention which tests and the reason for the testing. That might help you get a better answer in here.

"driving myself crazy " Don’t! It is what it is. Go from there. What can you do about it; this is the only way thinking after diagnosed.
Listen to your doctor; take the medication and fallow hearth friendly lifestyle.
Good luck.

hello sorry about the confusion ... i was meaning can you be born with a heathy heart that falls just outside the normal size range , do they differ from person to person .... the first symptom i had was lone afib that returned and converted back on its own .... that was back in last october , and i havent had it since.

when i was being tested for afib my cardioligist said that it looks like the right hand side of my heart maybe slightly enlarged by 3mm but it may be the echo being oversensitive

since then ive had a cardiac MRI to rulle out avrd , ecg's / signal averaged ecg's that came back fine ....

i then received a letter saying that  ''there is some minor dilation to the right side and i am not sure how much we should read into that. best wishes ''

i was then sent for a VQ lung scan and bubble study , that both came back negative ....
so no clots in lung, asd's or vsd's

i also looked at my notes after the vq and it said i do not have chf and im low risk

i used to go the gym alot before i ended up in the er with the afib and rearly push myself , had also just came back from holiday where i did a lot of free diving ( holding my breath for along time underwater ) i was wondering if this could have had anything to do with it

the only meds i am on is a 75mg asprin a day , i do go through stages where i get rearly low about this and it brings on  anxiety,  i dont realy have palps anymore and my heart rate seems steady , i went for a run 3 days ago and have been fine too ???

thanks and sorry sould have put this in my first post

mark

thanks vienna, it rearly gets to me some times as ive never been ill before and seems a lot as im only 28, and i read things such as PH and living for another 2 years etc
as good as the internet is for advise it seems to freak me out twice as bad

Mark, let me tell you what is the only thing I am afraid from: from being afraid.:)
Yes lots of nonsense as well on the Internet, but if you take your time and learn about all you need to know you will feel good and a little like you are a doctor and that is helping a lot. But always stay positive and calm about it. That is important.
You will be fine!  And you will reach old age!
