Help please...

Started having 'tingling/shooting sensations' throughout my body a few days ago. The first time it lasted about 3 hours (started in my face/cheeks, and went to my arm, leg, foot, etc).(best I can describe it) a little nauseousness and a headache. I called an advice nurse last night and she said it could be numerous things but if it kept happening to go get Psychical..? Well, I keeps happening so I went to the Urgent Care a little while ago and they did an EKG and took my vitals and said all of my symptoms are due to anxiety. I find it so hard to believe. I also smoke cigarettes and read on one of the topics on here that the tingling could be due to this too. I accept that I have anxiety and that I smoke cigarettes (obviously) but I have a hard to believing that ANXIETY ALONE is causing this constant tingling/shooting sensations! And also I have it more when I am inside and it stops/decreasing A LOT when I am outside...And now I am having a 'heavy/tightness/warming sensation' in my chest that has been going on for roughly 2 hours now. I'm wondering if this is due to the anxiety or if it could be something more serious. The EKG, oxygen level and vitals were all Normal last night so I don't know...I just want to live normally and everything be OK.

Any advice would help.

Thank you for your time

In addition, to Ally's assessment and to see a GP....the condition could indicate paresthesia, a problem with functioning of neurons.

Without a proper supply of blood and nutrients, nerve cells can no longer adequately send signals to the brain. Because of this, paresthesia can also be a symptom of "vitamin deficiency and malnutrition, as well as metabolic disorders like diabetes, hypothyroidism, and hypoparathyroidism".

If your tingling sensation is accompanied by "fear, worry, sweating, dizziness or ringing in your ears", it may be caused by a panic attack or an anxiety disorder.

A tinging sensation is more probably caused by your nerves. One reason that the symptoms seem to decrease outside could be because your attention is taken away from the symptoms by what is outdoors.  It could be anxiety. You are more prone to notice the symptoms more when you are in your "zone" inside your home.  There is more to attract your attention outside. If it continues to be a bother, I would see your doctor and not rely on what they tell you in an Urgent Care clinic. If you have a GP that has seen you several times and has your medical history, that person is more likely to give a better diagnosis.   Take care, Ally
