How to prevent high cholesterol from progressing to Arterial Plaque?

I am a 32 yr old male, and have comparitively high BP and Cholesterol levels. Idont drink or smole, exercise regularly and eat lot of vegs. What else can I do to bring these levels down?

Not gonna tell you that you must fairly radically alter your diet, but that is one path to lower BP and lower cholesterol levels,  even without adding in a statin or bp medication.

Take a look around.  Google the following doctors.
Dean Ornish,  Caldwell Esselstyn, (both of them are credited with completely turning around former President Clinton's diet.
Other doctor names  John McDougall,  Joel Fuhrman,  Neal Barnard

You are very young.  Explore the youtube and other sites that involve these several doctors.

Then after listening to their advice... you decide if you are willing to go in that direction in order to prevent problems 10 and 20 years down the road.

Oh, also a LOW dosage of statin would be beneficial because it will put anti inflammatory properties into your arteries.

You will only form plaque if you develop damaged arteries. It's that which you need to prevent. To do this, one important thing is to reduce blood pressure, even emotional stress if it's the cause. There are many blood pressure medications on the market which your Doctor can prescribe to you.
