Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy?

I've had episodes of blackouts my entire life, almost died when I was born and noone knows why.....I seem to go through spells of fatigue,SOB,dizziness, palpitations and chest pain......I do know I have a murmur that comes and goes, documented sinus tachycardia, and hypertension....fast and forceful heartbeat. Doc sent me in for an echo which seems to show everything normal except Abnormal Apical Hypertrophy of the apex is observed........everything else seems to be normal and no sign of valve vegetations. I understand the no infection but what about the focal cardiomyopathy? Might I have a conjenital disease? My blood work and thyroid tests all come back within normal limits........I can't seem to get a diagnosis......why does evryone assume I have anxiety when there does infact seem to be an abnormality? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im 31 and female and my parents both died very young.....dad had several heart attacks and died at 53.

For some insight, with hypertrophic cardiomology there is the obstructive and non-obstructive classifications, and it depends on whether the distortion of normal heart anatomy causes an obstruction of the outflow of blood from the left ventricle of the heart, so it can be can be obstructive or non-obstructive cardiomyopathy.

Non-obstructive variant of HCM is apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The condition can be ideopathpathic (cause unknown) and inherited.

You may require further testing: Proper diagnostic testing for HCM is based upon a number of features of the disease process. While there is use of echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, or cardiac MRI in the diagnosis of the disease, other important factors include ECG and genetic test findings and if there is any family history of HCM or unexplained sudden death in otherwise healthy individuals
