Ischaemic heart disease

My cousin aged 42 yrs,is suffering from Ischemic Hear Disease( smoker, drinker). I am putting the details of the angiography

CORONARY ANGIOGRAPHIC DATA:

Findings :      Left Main       : Normal
LAD          :  Proximal  to MID 60 %, lONG tUBULAR lESION
D1/LCx - nORMAL
RCA - DISTAL 80 %
POST LAD - NORMAL
FINAL IMPRESSION - DOUBLE VESSEL HEART DISEASE
RECOMENDATON - PTCA

HE HAS HIGH tRIGLYCERIDE LEVEL WHICH HAS NOW BEEN BROUGHT DOWN BY LIPITOR F DRUG

ECOCARDIO REPORT :-
L.V- DIASTOLIC FUNCTION IMPAIRED RELAXATION
SYSTOLIC FUNCTION - REDUCED
DIALATED - L.A
MILD REDUCED L.V SYSYTOLIC FUNCTION
LVEF- 45 TO 50 %

Q: L.V- DIASTOLIC FUNCTION IMPAIRED RELAXATION

>>>>>It appears your heart walls are thickened and that condition provides some rigidity and failure to relax during the heart's filling phase so the filling capacity is impaired reducing the cardiac output.

Q: SYSTOLIC FUNCTION - REDUCED

>>>>>Systolic function is the pumping phase and the volume is reduced from the normal expected output.

Q: DIALATED - L.A

>>>>>>The upper left side chamber (atrium)  receives blood from the lungs to be pumped into circulation and is enlarged.  The enlargement can be due to the thickened walls of the lower chamber and that condition will increase the pressure the left atrium (LV) pumps against.  As a consequence the left atrium enlarges.

Q: MILD REDUCED L.V SYSYTOLIC FUNCTION
LVEF- 45 TO 50 %

>>>>>>>Left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF) is the percentage of blood pumped with each heartbeat.  Normal is 50 to 70%.

Q: RCA - DISTAL 80 %
POST LAD - NORMAL
FINAL IMPRESSION - DOUBLE VESSEL HEART DISEASE
RECOMENDATON - PTCA

The lower segment of the RCA (right coronary artery) has blockage.  The left artery (LAD) posterior location and report states normal, however, there is a recommendation for stent implants. Usually when there is an angiogram and done with a cath the stent implants are done at that time.  Was the angiogram done with imaging technology such as a CT scan?

Thanks for the questions and if you have any further questions or comments, you are welcome to respond.  Take care, and I wish your cousin well going forward.

Ken
