My cardiologist has a different view. She does not do additional tests unless there is a change in symptoms. Her concern is the possibility of a false positive test result that would lead to more invasive and dangerous procedures. Of course your particular condition and risk factors may make your case different. I will have my next test 7 years after my last one unless something changes first. I am currently cycling 12 -15 miles a day at 10-12 mets and a heart rate of 160 without any difficulty so she does not see a need at this time.

No you are not wrong, I had symptoms for years before they finally realised what my problem was. But what have symptoms got to do with anything? One thing to maybe consider in your logic are the many people who discover they have dead heart tissue years after the event. They didn't even realise they had a heart attack. Is it not wise for your Cardiologist to be cautious? after all, your calcium score is VERY high.
Thanks, but I am not so sure whether you are the right person to ask about this. Don't get me wrong, this is not an attack on your veracity or knowledge about the subject, but I bet with your history of heart disease, that you published here, you had symptoms before you went for the stress tests and I just don't have any. Am I wrong?
I think it's basically down to the discretion of the cardiologist. I had one in June 2007 and then another one in January 2008. If they think there could be further issues, they will order another scan. In 4 years I've had numerous angio procedures, nuclear scans, x-rays and a CT scan. I'm surprised I don't glow in the dark.
