Please can you help me, my Uncle had a Bypass 9 weeks ago, he has been doing fine, and is getting stronger by the day, since the Bypass operation, he had found that he can no longer enjoy his food, he can no longer taste things the same, he is all right when chewing the food and the taste is fine, but just as he is about to swallow his food, it hits the back of his mouth and tongue, and his taste buds, resulting in the food tasting bitter, or different, could this be a result of the medication he has to take, or could this stem from him having the Ventilator tubes in his mouth for the time he was recovering, could the tube at the back of his throat and tongue at that time, cause his taste buds to be damaged or change in someway, would they have sprayed anything like an antiseptic spray at the back of his throat while the tubes were in place.
Kind regards
Roppa
