Pacemaker to manage PVCs?

I was diagnosed with PVCs in 2009, in 2010 had a heart cath to find an 80% blockage in one artery requiring two stents and have been on beta blockers since that time.  Earlier in 2014 I had an ablation procedure as a result of my 24 hour Holter recording 36,000 heart beats.  My 6 month check-up post surgery 24 hour Holter recording is 39,000 heart beats.  The ablation was not successful. The cardiologist is indicating I may need a pacemaker.  I can't seem to find information that explains how a pacemaker can manage PVCs.  Can anyone point me to resources or help me understand how this works? I greatly appreciate any assistance

Yes, that's exactly what it amounts to. A friend of mine had it done, but I had the sneaky suspicion - and still do - that they screwed up his ablation and now the pacemaker has to provide the heartbeat completely and not only when needed.

I think they can totally remove the function of the natural heart rhythm of your heart and take over with the pacemaker.
