Heart clicking is louder with my mouth open

I posted a long time ago about a pulse-linked clicking/popping noise I sometimes hear when reclining (in bed or armchair). Heart murmur? Who knows. Haven't talked to a doctor about it. I WAS told about 11 years ago that I had a VERY slight heart murmur, but no tests or follow-up were done. (I've had other, neurological/ENT fish to fry in the meantime.)

So recently I noticed that this clicking/popping/dripping noise is LOUDER with my mouth open even slightly!

I can't figure it out... I was never able to tell whether I was hearing this noise through air conduction (that is, hearing it from outside, like another person near me would hear it) or through bone conduction (that is, from inside my body/skull).

The fact that it's louder with my mouth open makes it seem as if the sound is coming up through my throat?? and I'm hearing it via air conduction? but I really don't know.

Just a curiosity.... Anyone have any thoughts??

Thanks,

Nancy (54 yr old female, overweight & scoliotic but no known heart disease)

i have this same condition as well, it flares when i feel panic(even mild panic) and it is a loud abrupt organic scraping sound to me, honestly i think it is from the adrenaline causing vasoconstriction and also, in some people, raise blood pressure suddenly. I think the sudden raise in pressure that is only occuring in certain people make it happen and that is likely why not everyone gets the condition

Hi, yes I have this as well! I'm a 21 year old female- slim and relatively active. It happens to me every/every other morning when getting ready for work/school.  I think this is due to stress and a change in heart rate. I have gotten it in an audio recording- it's rather loud. I also experience heart palpitations. I'll be seeing a doctor about this soon. (I also have pectus excavatum which is a sunken sternum/ribs, and this displaces my heart to the left side)

I have had this same problem for the past two years. I have not been able to isolate whether or not it is happening with heart beats or if it is something else. Seems to be coming from my mouth and others can hear it, but it is fairly rare.  Usually seems to happen when I have eaten a bit too much; started when I was about 30, but I am not much overweight and I don't seem to have any other real health issues except for gall stones, which I have been flushing out with liver cleanses (have flushed out about 150 so far).
