Stress test.. A big part of this has to do with the nature of the pain.

Pain that comes and goes in 5 -15 minute waves, is dull or constricting in nature, with shortness of breath nausea and/or sweating, that exists primarily below the breastbone and/or radiates to the front of left shoulder/ pects, up to left jaw and down the pinky/arm pit side of arm.. Often With numbness in pinky finger is the worst sign.

If this pain\discomfort is made worse with exercise or only exists in exercise thats a bigger problem.

All you can do is eat healthy, stay active and be aware of the warning signs. Never delay treatment for chest pain.. If youre unsure, get tested.

Some things ischenic cardiac pain is not:

It doesnt remain uncomfortable continuously, it gives you breaks.

It doesnt feel sharp or stabbing.

It doesnt get worse just from slight changes in position.

It does make breathing more difficult, but the movement of,your chest wal from breathing wont cause any sharp or noticable difference.

Touching it or pushing on it doesnt effect it.

Any sort of environmental change like applying heat or cold have little if any effect.

It doesnt typically accompany a viral illness(eg cold or flu) or occur often in the 2 weeks or so after such an illness

It doesnt often occur in individuals under 30.

It doesnt often occur in individuals with no family history of cardiac issues and no mjor risk factors (such as smoking, diabetes or obeisity)

Cardiac chest pain is only 1 symptom of a systemic disease that effects your energy level, mental status (sharpness), breathing, and other functions of the nervous system. Therefore..

It does not often occur without a more generalized overall 'crappy' feeling.

Lastly cardiac chest pain usually gets better with beta blockers (drugs that end with 'lol' like metoprolol or atenolol), opiates (such as morphine or percocet) and nitrates (such as nitroglycerin or sodium nitroprusside). Medications such as aspirin, tylenol etc do not improve the chest pain.
