Sudden Fainting

I am 23 yr old male, maybe 10-15lbs overweight, otherwise fairly healthy. Up until the last few years I had been very active daily and in good physical shape. Since then, my exercise routine has fallen off to almost nothing. 1-3 times a year I faint for no apparent reason, usually to awake and recover within 15 mins. I also get lighted headed a few times a year but do not faint. I had an EKG/ECHO done 2 years ago, DR said I probably had either PVC's or PAC's and said to not worry unless I was constantly symptomatic. Is this something I should be concerned with? Could I have heart trouble at this age? Am I going to die? Any information would help greatly, this worries me a lot.

Thanks,
Worried

Ask your doctor for a referral to an Electrophysiologist (EP)- heart rhythm specialist. Doctors, even cardiologists, aren't very good at reading EKGs to diagnose electrical heart problems. A good Echo should be reassuring as this rules out alot of problems that could have caused your faints and dizziness. But you should get this checked out in my opinion, even people your age can have electrical problems with their hearts but have a completely structurally normal heart. Check out the SADS website for conditions that affect the young.
I wouldn't worry too much but I would follow up with this.

It's mid August and I had my pacemaker put in May 30. Went perfectly smoothly. Understand better what it is that was causing my problem. I have a left bundle branch block and Mobitz type II AV block. Implant procedure went well. I feel as good as new and have energy to burn. I'm back to swimmiing every day and all my other activities. Yahoo!!!

I am the 72 year old with very low pulse (37). Went to the doctor (internist) yesterday and was sent to a cardiologist for exam of abnormal electrocardiogram. Diagnosed as very irregular heartbeats that have pauses between beats that could lead to fainting or death if prolonged.
Have been set up for pacemaker implantation today,  Should have paid attention to the symptoms before now. Have been very tired and "lazy" for at least the last year after having been very active; ie swimming everyday, walking, etc. Last week or so, noticed the very low pulse, breathlesness and mild wobbly-headed feeling.
The doctor said I was lucky I came when I did, because it was probably going to get worse.
Advice  to those with strange symptoms....Don't Wait!!
