Waking Up at Night

History -
MI - 2005
CABG-2007
Since then pvc's and svt's ongoing.
Current meds-
asa 81 mg,
acebutlol 100mg x 2
fenofibrate 200mg
digoxin .25 mg
ezetrol 10mg
Problem - 2 to 3 times a week I wake up in the middle of the night, short of breath, slightly elevated heart rate,
Very hard beating heart and a raging pressure headache. Once awake these disappear within minutes and I fall asleep again.
Any thoughts on what might be the cause?
Thank you

i also experience the same thing, what could it be when sometimes it will wake me up and it will feel as if my pulse is racing 100000 bpm, but I will feel my pulse and it will be REALLY slow with long pauses inbetween, but beating forcefully and then eventually will start going fast and i awake with shortness of breath?I only experience that kind when I'm woken from them, which is usually every night. I also can feel them while Im half asleep (dreaming) and then will awaken with them.  could it be pvcs, svt, v-tach, a-fib? anyone else experience anything like this at all???

Based on my recent experience I would talk to your heart doctor about getting a Sleep Study performed.Something is happening at night, awaking you and causing distress on your heart by causing increased heartbeats regardless of past medical history. There is a direct correlation between the adverse affect on the heart/cardiovascular system and sleep apnea. Joan.
