Green tea and autoimmune disease

I was told that for a person with autoimmune disease, I should not drink tea or take any supplement that has green tea extract in the ingredients since it will increase the symptom.  Anyone has any any suggestion?  Thanks!

A quick search of the internet for  - green tea and autoimmunity - yeilds many articles that state the opposite here is one....
