Wife suffering through last months of pacer life

My wife has been having issues with her pacer for about 3 months now.  Her pacer checks have show an est of 1 to 18 month in april and in June the est was 1 to 10 month.  Possibly not more then 6 months.  Her pacemaker was stress check and appears to be running properly.  However she stays tired and acts as if her pacer is not working at all.  We are a military family and she is quite young we have a 11month old son.  The last few months I have been taking care of them both many many days out of the week.  Is there anything we can do? Or do we have to wait until the life of the pacer reaches its acceptable depleted battery life?
Thank You,
-James

Thank you for the advice.  I have been worred she was just scared to get a second opinion on replacement.  She seems to deal with a lot more pain and illness then should be needed in this case

My wife just had her pacer replaced after 10 years.  Her checks suggested she was less than a year away from having her battery depleted.  Her doctors did not want her to go too close to the predicted end of battery life because of safety issues.
I would certainly suggest she be reevaluated as soon as possible and insist in the strongest terms that something be done.
My wife was never in any danger and I believe that is good medical practice to replace the pacer with time to spare.
