aches and pains

I walk regularly for 50 minutes daily but in the last 3 months it has reduced to barely 20 minutes with great reduction in speed . I feel the strain in my left knee and calves . I also am diagnosed with hypothyroidism for which I take Thyronorm 75 mg and my weight has increased by 2 kgs . While walking , my breathing gets heavy along with heaviness in the heart area . I was advised Neugaba M which I discontinued due to the side effects . Please advise

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

Inadequate oxygenation can produce symptoms of breathlessness, as the body tries in an effort to compensate for the decreased oxygen supply. The breathlessness could be due to cardiac or lung disorders. Breathlessness on exertion could be due to the decreased lung function. Again in cardiac disorders the heart is unable to pump the blood adequately, more so when subjected to stress like exercise. Certain systemic disorders like anemia, diabetes, vitamin deficiencies and thyroid disorders can cause these symptoms. Your symptoms could also be due to excess of thyronorm. So please consult your primary care physician who may ask for an EKG or a treadmill test to rule out a cardiac cause for the symptoms. He may even ask for blood tests and an X ray chest. Lung function tests could further help in evaluation

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Hi
Thyronorm has various possible side effects, including shortness of breath. It can also cause weight gain. How long have you been taking this medication? because if you get joint pain, it 'could' be a sign of an allergic reaction.
