blood pressure again

I am getting confused over this now. I went to my pharmacy yesterday who said he would gladly check my blood pressure. I sat in a chair relaxed for 15 mins, and he then took 3 readings which were....

135/102...136/98....134/104

As you can see, my systolic is fine, but the diastolic is a nightmare. All the blood pressure meds I take obviously lower both the diastolic and systolic, and they make me light headed by the time the diastolic drops enough. I can't see any meds which affect just diastolic?

After my bypass surgery, Ed, my docs suggested I quit taking Lasix, which I did, and both blood pressures spiked.  I demanded to go back on them, and my blood pressure is fine. I take a beta blocker as well.  Just something to think about.

Many docs will say that because of the cost, they are expensive and I've never needed to change my meds for all 6 years I'v bee on it.

No, When I was on the phone to my Doc I said "I have it on good authority that I should try an ARB", she replied "oh I don't agree".

Have you tried an ARB like Benicar yet?

Not on any medication for blood pressure now. Doctor is stumped about what to give me. I have a feeling she may just leave it or contact my Cardiologist.

Are you on only the Diuretic at this time? The reason why I am asking is my systolic was about the same as yours with only the Diuretic so the Cardiologist put me on Norvasc 5mmg (Calcium Channel blocker) which brought it down some more. As far as the Pulse Pressure is concerned from what I know normal, resting is between 30 and 40mm Hg.
