This is most likely a normal variant, I wouldn't worry. I have a left axis shift as well, but my cardiologist told me it was due to losing 70 pounds as weight loss may cause this type of shift. If this was found on an echo, it would have shown if the walls of your LV had enlarged. If it was found on an EKG, it may not be correct as an EKG is not a very reliable way to test for such things, you can request an echo to be sure.

It can be a normal variant, or it may indicate that high blood pressure for a long time may cause the walls of the left side of the heart to thicken. It's something you need to discuss with your doctor.
Regular exercise is necessary both to control high blood pressure and depression! I know, I've been there!
