coronary artery disease

Every year I had a physical and was always told my health was excellent, good colesterol, blood pressure, EKG etc.  In addition my family history on both sides was 90 years for parents and grandparents.  No heart disease.  At 61 years, I felt discomfort in my larnyx on and off for one day, the following day it came and wouldn't go away.  I was taken to the hospital and found that the artery to the rear of my heart was 100% blocked that caused a minor heart attack.  Forturnately I was treated immediately with a medicated stent and feel fine again.  The doctor  said I have at least two other partially blocked arteries, not major ones and have to have a stress test next month.  Even at the time  of my surgery, I was told my blood pressure and colesterol was ok.  In my profession, I am constantly under stress and will retire in one year.  I have a history of panic attacks and anxiety, I believe are job related but have subsided over the past five years.  What are the statistics for longevity after having blocked arteries?  I'm thinking I won't be part of the 90 average in my family.  I'm sure other  people with this problem wonder the same thing.

I would think you have been put onto beta blockers now and so stress should have minimal effect on your heart because the effects of certain hormones such as adrenaline will be greatly reduced. There is no reason why you shouldnt live the rest of your natural life, particularly that your blockages are not major. You only have one year until retirement and then you should be much more relaxed anyway. It's amazing how many people think stress is unrelated but your situation seems to reinforce it.
I wouldn't worry about your heart, they will decide whether stents are required or medication can be used to control the problem.
