It's a tear and the Cardiologist may recommend repairing it. If the tear gets worse, then the regurgitation will become severe and real serious issues will arise. Medications may help to keep the pressure down some. With such high pressure there is more chance the tear could worsen. What has the Cardiologist recommended?
Thanks for the response.
Cardiologist has advised to take medicines to keep BP under control. After 6 months he will again diagnoise with 2D echo to evaluate the case.
I would like to know the below.
1) Is our cardiologist following the best approach for this problem.
2) if we keep BP in control, can our body repair the tear just like our skin.
3) if tear does not heal by body self? What step I Need to take before it become worse?
1 yes absolutely. 2. Doubtful. I have a feeling the tear may be in the chordae which are tiny chords connected to the valve. 3. You can't do anything really except keep blood pressure withing normal range. IF the time comes when repair is necessary then it would be the best option (sugery). At the moment there is no need for surgery.
Thankyou so much. Now my doubts are cleared. Will keep you posted with updates.
