CK is an enzyme which is present in skeletal muscle, brain, photoreceptor cells of the retina, hair cells of the inner ear, spermatozoa and smooth muscles.. It is mainly used as a marker of myocardial infarction (heart attack), rhabdomyolysis (severe muscle breakdown), muscular dystrophy, and acute renal failure.
the result will vary if any muscle damage happend. In your case as you have a muscle injury, the result may be a false positive one. better re do it once its healed or go for other diagnostic evaluatuions
I've been told that extreme physical activity prior to, or muscle injury would give a positive for this test. I'd suggest you ask to be re-tested after resting for a day or two and when the hamstring muscle pull is healed. The hamstring is a very large muscle and certainly, I would think, would influence the test.
